Hi,
I'm new to this just discovered all this from reading though the Cox forums. Pretty much have been having an issue with awful upload speeds/packet loss the last few days making it very difficult to remote work & game. A Cox technician is coming this week to diagnose it, but before he did I just tried seeing if I could confirm the issue is on my hardware or theirs.

Here's a plot of my ping plotter, I see I start getting packet loss at Hop 2 which seems to carry through all the way. I'm a bit confused how I should read this and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey Deep,

Thanks for reaching out!

As you identified, this packet loss does appear to be originating at the second hop in the route as shown in your screenshot. Along with identifying the packet loss starting at hop 2 we can also see in the screenshot that your router (home network) Hop #1 has consistently low latency with no packet loss.

Considering this it would appear that the issue is likely not your local hardware and is an ISP related issue. When the Cox technician comes to help diagnose this issue I suggest sharing this PingPlotter data with them to help them identify the issue quicker.

Along with that you may find the following article we have on "building a case" worth looking through before meeting with the technician.

If you have any additional questions about this let us know!

Thanks,
-TJ
