Hello, I have already presented a situation here in the Forum in this thread https://www.pingman.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/2856/Packet_Loss_Issues#Post2856, but in fear of just making a new comment and not getting answered, I decided to make a new post, hope you guys don't mind.

The thing is I have, as you can see in the videos here: https://youtu.be/ygkvHknRc8U (Wi-fi) and here https://youtu.be/ViF2HT7szM4 (cable), packet loss in hop 1 all the time, either with cable or wi-fi, I would like to know if this could be a router problem?! I have done the ping test with another Internet connection in my girlfriend's house and with this same computer I had no packet loss, so the problem cannot be my computer, I guess.
Also note that I defined the Interval has 0,5 seconds. Could this be a router problem? I also connected via cable to my router and saw that at that moment 6 computers (including two android phones) were connected to the wireless, could that be the reason? Or should it withstand those many devices? Also the speedtest ia cable got 120MB download and 8.5MB upload.

For further information check my other thread and comment in it.

Thank you very much for the help, have a nice day!

Hey Eduardo,

We have seen many instances where a router cannot (or does not) handle an aggressive trace interval such as .5 seconds very well - and ends up dropping some of the requests in order to be able to handle the others, which shows up as packet loss. From your videos you posted (thanks for those by the way), it is apparent that this *most likely* is the case with your router. You can tell because hop 1 (which is your router) has a perfect pattern of packet loss, no packet loss then packet loss again throughout the whole trace.

Try relaxing your trace interval a little (we have found that 2.5 seconds works well) to get rid of that packet loss at hop 1, in order to get a clearer picture of the issue.

If you have checked your computer and cable, then the original issue with the game randomly disconnecting is most likely your router. If you have another router you can connect, you can run a trace again for at least 24 hours to see if you still see packet loss anymore when it shows up from hop 1 and continues through to the final target.

I hope this helps in getting this resolved for you. If you have any more questions, you can email us at anytime at support@pingplotter.com.

Take care,

-Phillip
