i upgraded to 3.10.2 today... 3 separate computer on two networks... And they all now have packet loss showing on some of the monitored devices. There was no packet loss on previous version. Have double checked settings to be identical.

Any reason for this.... Does this happen to everyone?

Hello,

Thanks for writing in - and thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Per your request here - I've done a bit of digging though our support tickets; and it doesn't look like we've previously had any reports of this issue. Additionally - we did a bit of testing here in our office, and can't see any obvious reason for this to be occurring (the packets that the new version of MultiPing sends out are the same as the previous version).

Are you seeing this on the same set of targets between the 3 separate computers? Would you be able to provide us some additional data (screenshots, examples, etc) so we can dig into this a bit deeper? If you could send us a support ticket directly from one of your instances of MultiPing ("Help" -> "Email Support"), we'd love to take a look at your settings to see if we can reproduce this issue here in our office.

Let us know, and we'll be happy to keep investigating this one!

Best wishes,

-Gary

As each computer was upgraded, where there had been zero packet loss, packet loss started occurring. On the last computer, before updating, we placed it on the same wiring and power source as one upgraded with new version, to make sure power supply and cat5, switches etc was or was not the issue. That computer ran fine, until we upgraded it... then it showed the packet losses. 100% sure it was the upgrade. So the question is, is the upgrade an issue, or is it find packet losses that the previous version was not? Also, that last computer to be upgraded and used for extensive testing... is a brand new computer with plenty of horsepower.

The MultiPing tool before upgrade ran 24/7 for last year... and rarely showed and packloss. Been using tool for many years.

With the new MultiPing release - we didn't make any changes to the packet collection engine at all (just added unicode, which shouldn't have any effect here). That being said, there *shouldn't* be any difference between the two versions as far as detecting packet loss goes.

This is something that we'd love to investigate further, and try to reproduce here in our office. If possible - would you be able to send over a support ticket directly from one of the instances of MultiPing thats experiencing this issue ("Help" -> "Email Support")?

Let us know, and we'll be happy to help out from there!

Best wishes,

-Gary
