Greetings and thanks for your nifty software !

I'm having packet loss issue and after having run a trace, the loss appears to originate in my default route (0.0.0.0), but (of course ?) bounces back to every hop down the line. Does it means that it's on my end rather than on my ISP's ?

Thanks for your time; LRM

Hi LRM,

Thanks for reaching out!

If you're seeing packet loss that's originating at the first hop in your route - and that packet loss is carrying through the rest of your route; that would usually indicate that there's an issue somewhere between the machine you're running PingPlotter on, and the first hop in your route (usually your modem/router).

We've got a couple of examples of different things that could be in play with a scenario like this in our "Common Network Problems" article:

https://www.pingplotter.com/common-network-problems

If you'd like to share some of your trace data with us (via the "File" -> "Share" option in PingPlotter), we'd be more than happy to take a look, and offer any guidance we can from there!

Best wishes,

-Gary
