I have install a XAMPP webserver in the remote virtual private server. I have also placed the trace.php file in that.

When I am trying to access the file along with IP address as agrument, I am getting an error that this type of tracerouting is allowed for superuser only.

What changes do i need to make in my server?

We've not used XAMPP here before (so we don't have much experience on this front)... but anytime that we've come across the "allowed for superuser only" message - it's usually an indicator that you need to be running the traceroute as a root user. You'll likely need to look into adjusting your user permissions in XAMPP to get things up and running.
