So I have 2 questions, firstly what is an acceptable amount of packet loss and secondly is my internet provider causing the packet loss (in this picture: http://prntscr.com/owvg72 ) ?

P.S. I know that I should ignore the first hop.

Hi Vilhelmas,

Thanks for getting in touch!

I took a look at your screenshot (thanks for that!) and from what I see it looks like the packet loss originates at hop #3 and continues through to the final hop. It's only .3 percent but any packet loss can be problematic. Hop #3 (10.129.129.102) looks like an internal address as it's in the 10.0.0.0 – 10.255.255.255 range. Since it comes after hop #2 (86.38.77.86) (which belongs to Lithuania Vilnius Sc Lithuanian Radio And Tv Center) it looks like this is your ISP's issue.

Here are a few good articles on making a case to your ISP:

https://www.pingplotter.com/manual/building_a_compelling_case.html
https://www.pingplotter.com/fix-your-network/build-a-case.html

I would suggest tracing for a longer period of time (24hrs) and create a share page (File -> Share -> Create Share Page). You can then send the Share Page URL to your ISP as evidence of the issue.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Thanks,

-Poe
