I think that all of us need to be concerned about software which does stuff that we don't expect. The privacy issues are thourougly dealt with on Steve (Spinrite) Gibson's Spyware pages<br><br><br>Among the many examples he cites are of companies run by good guys, which then get bought out by bad guys.<br><br>Regards,<br>Ed<br><br>

I agree completely - and the design and implementation of Ping Plotter's "phone home" key validation systems took this into account in a considerable fashion. <br><br>The data that Ping Plotter sends to the server is clearly described both in the program and on my web site for the specific purpose of not deceiving the users. The data is sent in clear text format so anyone can "sniff" this information to see what is being sent out.<br><br>
