I may be having a problem with my RoadRunner service dropping packets. The cable company brought their high-priced analyzers here to do flood testing, and they could not find an issue.

What's strange is that when I start a ping test with pingplotter, the result line is a few bumps indicating low or no packet loss. However, if I close the graphic window and open it again, the picture below shows up. Is that problem a bug in PP?

The bottom line is I need to know how to read these results. My Internet connection is nowhere near as bad as this graph looks.

It looks like the final destination has different results than earlier hops. Probably when you close the graphic window, you're turning off the graph for the final destination and turning it back on for hop 1 - which has a lot different performance.

The final destination is the important thing here, so look for problems there first. If you see a problem there, then look at earlier hops for issues that match.
