I having been evaluating mulitping and was wondering what a couple thing sin the log files mean when you do an alert to log file. The things I am curious about are what exactly does and N/A indicate and what does a * indicate in the latency field.

THanks,
Kenny

Hi, Kenny.

We talk about this in PingPlotter here (and it's very similar in MultiPing).

A * means there was a lost packet.

A N/A means that some non-packet event happened there. In MultiPing, this is because you stopped / restarted the pinging, or possibly because you just added that target and you've not collected as many samples as the "Samples to examine" setting is set to in the alert.
