Is it possible to set Multiping so that it loops the sound file until the alert is satisfied.

Hi, Tim.

There are several possibilities here.

* If you want MultiPing to play a sound for each sample that occurs (at whatever interval your have set up as your "Ping Interval", this is easy to do by using the "each time alert conditions are met (repeating)" option on the alert. One way to make something seem like it's repeating constantly is to make your sound file at least as long as your ping interval (and ideally not any longer). As long as the alert continues to fire, the sound will continously be "refreshed". As soon as the alerts stops firing, then it would stopped being refreshed and stop playing.

* If you want MultiPing to start playing something when an alert starts and then stops playing it when it stops, you need to use some kind of audio player that will loop the sound, and then configure MultiPing to start playing the sound in this player when an alert starts and stop playing it when it ends. This might happen by using the "Launch an executable" event / action and then setting up command line parameters with an application to do what you're after.

Note that the "Launch an executable" is significantly more than just that - it can launch anything that Windows recognizes. Instead of using the play a sound event, you might actually launch that same sound in the "Launch an executable" event. This will open it in your registered player (Winamp, maybe, or something else). Using this, you might launch a playlist with options to repeat. When an alert stops, maybe you can launch another empty playlist to stop it from playing. This is partly theory - I've not configured MultiPing to interact with Winamp like this, but you can probably imagine how something like this might work.

Hopefully, this will give you some ideas on how you might achieve your goals.

- Pete
