DNS Lookup - 07/09/09 07:10 AM

When I enter a host name does pingplotter have its own dns address to find the destination ip or does it simply use what your network settings are, it has been suggest that a problem we are trying to resolve could be a dns problem from the provider. I would like to know does pingplotter have its own abilty to resolve dns destination ip address to send the packets too

thankyou in advance
btw how do I subscribe to this thread smile

Below image is a test we done fallenearth is a beta game (this is not my image, my connection is fine im just trying to help soemone else), we belive its either firewall or a router issue, firewall issue is a maybe due to being able to connect via a differnt network. do you have any advice how to fix thankyou

This looks like a local firewall / software issue. This doesn't look at all like a DNS problem, based on the screenshot.

We talk about these symptoms a bit here:

PingPlotter uses the OS DNS lookups, not custom lookups.

Best wishes,
