100 % loss at destination but no performance issues - 05/18/20 04:24 PM

Hello I am evaluating this software and noticed that at the final destination its showing 100% packet loss , but I an not experiencing any performance issue . IS it possible that the destination network is set some how with a firewall or something that not allowing the software to see this info properly

Hi smilch,

Thanks for writing into the forum!

Usually, when the destination is presenting with 100% packet loss it means that it is configured to drop and not respond to all ICMP packets. This could be a firewall setting or some other configuration. If you have access to PingPlotter Pro you could try using a different packet type with a named configuration (TCP or UDP) and see if it responds to either of those.

There are some destinations that choose to use this technique to mitigate certain risks but it comes at the cost of not being able to see what's going on with the target.

Let us know if there are any other questions that we can answer for you!

Thanks,
