Installation of Pingplotter 4.12 on Windows 10 Pro fails. Remedy? - 01/21/19 09:56 PM

I was running Pingplotter 3, then 4.12 for years on my Windows Home Server box until it recently died. I am unable to install Pingplotter 4.12 on my Windows 10 Pro box... it gets about 1/2 thru the installation process then fails. I emailed the log file to PP tech support and was told that I am receiving a MainEngineThread 1603 error as well as a 1722 error. The proposed remedy didn't work.

My question is, do any of you have success running this version of Pingplotter in Windows 10 Pro? Any suggestions on how to make it properly install?

Thanks!

Hey Joe,

Thanks for writing in to our forums!

We'll need to do a bit more testing with this - however, we haven't quite ever gotten these errors installing before, and PingPlotter version 4 should be able to run on Windows 10 with no issue.

You may benefit from checking out the following links on the issues you were having while installing:

https://windowsreport.com/fix-1603-fatal-error/

These will address the 1722 and the 1603 errors you were getting - specifically, I would recommend wiping out installation folders (C:\Program Files (x86)\PingPlotter) and wiping out the temp folders. Give that a try and let us know how it goes!
