Upgrade from 5.0.8 to 5.0.13 does not work on Windows 2008 32 bit

When I do an update of Pingplotter 5.0.8 to 5.0.13 I get a message on launch of the installer "Pingplotter 5 requires Windows 7 or newer."

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

We did a bit of digging into this and it *appears* as if our installer that normally automatically installs .net framework 4.5.1 was not working correctly and didn't install it.

If you search for .net framework 4.5.1 and download and install that, you *should* be good to go with version 5.0.13.

We are going to take a look at getting this fixed on our end as well, so this does not happen anymore.

Since it was running 5.0.8 is already had .net 4.5.1 installed. I just tried an offline installer for 4.5.1 and it said it's already installed.

This error comes up instantly upon launching the installer.

I apologize that didn't work. We definitely are taking a look at our installer - to see where it is failing to recognize your Operating System.

In the mean time, you can get around this by extracting the .msi package from the installer (so that it will just install the upgrade without doing the operating system and .net framework checks).

Here is how you can extract the MSI package from the installer (after you have downloaded it):

1. Open a command prompt
2. Get to the root of the C:\ drive (by typing "cd/" until it says "C:\>"
3. type the path to the installer
4. add a space and then type /extract=parameter (where parameter is the full path, as well as a name for the extracted MSI, for example: /extract=c:\ppdata\test.msi will create a new file named test.msi within the ppdata folder on the c:\ drive

I've attached a screenshot for your reference of an example of the full command line entry.

Once you have created that .msi file, you can simply double-click it to start the installation.
