Network drops out and slows down badly from time to time. The latency just creeps up to about 2.5 seconds and then eventually gets better (~30ms). This is pinging to google. Its driving me mad.

Broadband engineers have been out a few times and nothing seems to help. The connection to the router is fine - the latency curve is happening beyond that. Is this network saturation?

Any advice appreciated!!

Hey badger,

You seem to be on the right track, the results you've got here look an *awful* lot like bandwidth saturation. We've got an example in our Common Network Problems article that looks fairly similar to what you've got here:

https://www.pingplotter.com/common-network-problems/#bandwidthsat

We've got a short video that goes over some tactics for analyzing PingPlotter results to figure out where a problem may be occurring (and we use bandwidth saturation as the example scenario). Have a look here:

If you'd like, feel free to send over a PP2 file (or use the "File" -> "Share" option in PIngPlotter and shoot over the link) - we'd be happy to take a closer look at your results and offer any additional guidance we can!

Best wishes,

-Gary

Thanks - it got *really* bad yesterday - see this:

https://share.pingplotter.com/fkgxHWZk45f

The engineers have been around twice now and always declare the line is fine. I guess thats because the line is ok, but its the amount of data going the network which is the problem?

What do I do?!

Thanks!
