The ability to set flags when doing some real time testing would be useful. i.e. I used pp in don't some testing on a customers WAN for a VoIP application. Being able to set something like numbered flags in the timeline would be useful for indicating when specific tests had begun and ended.

Also, how about the potential for a companion program to test one way latency. While round trip is useful, things like VoIP are really only interested in one way for Quality of Service #'s

Hi, Greg.

If you right-click on the timeline graph, one of the options there should be "Create Comment". This will pop up a dialog that prompts for a comment. Enter a comment there, and a small triangle will appear on the timeline graph at the point you right-clicked - and floating over that period in time will show the comment.

Doing a "Save Image" or "Copy as Image" will show these comment markers, and will also list the text you entered below the graph so it's automatically included in anything you send out to someone.

Is that what you had in mind for the first request?

On the "companion program" ... We actually did some development on this front several years ago (it looked more like MultiPing than PingPlotter, however). We shelved this project to work on some other avenues for a while. While we've not picked this back up yet, we're considering that as a possible future product (or addition to an existing product).

Thanks for the suggestions. Please post back on the comment features on how well that matches with what you were requesting (note that this feature only exists on version 2.40 or higher).

- Pete
